About Me:
Hello everyone, I love to dance and listen to live music at concerts or clubs. I am an avid reader and I am a journalist. Right now I am working on a screenplay, a novel and a cookbook. The cookbook I am writing with my daughter, age 10. My hobby is genealogy and I have a written a book on my family. Oh yeah and I have stage 4 colon cancer that is already in my liver and some l. nodes. I have already been through 12 rounds of chemo, 3 days each and am going into surgery on May12. Wish me luck.

Brand new to site and surgery

Posted on May 7, 2010 at 3:04pm 0 Comments

Hello everyone,
I am new to this site and would like to connect with other women who have colon cancer. Everyone in my local cancer support group has breast cancer. I feel like the odd man out.
Am going to have surgery on May12, 2010 and would like to hear from others that have had a liver resection and colon surgery at the same time.
Thanks
Best to everyone
Diana

Hi Diana, Welcome to CRC Connections! Hope you have a happy Mother's Day. Good luck with your surgery. It will take awhile to recover. It sounds like you are physically fit (all that dancing!) so that should work in your favor.

wow Diana;

liver resection and colon resection on May 12!!!! going to be a big day. you'll have to give yourself time to heal and as soon as you can begin walking and moving around i suggest you do so. it's also very important to pay attention to what you eat. nothing worse then on top of the surgery that you may feel bloated, constipated, even nauscious. i hope you don't have to have a colostomy but if you do one i hope it's not permanent and two even though that was a tough experience for me i was greatful that type of surgery is available. i'm sure you'll get alot of information here and remember were all here for you and ask away any questions and or concerns you have. have a great day!!
