Hi, I participated in a panel discussion for this organization. I'm not interested in the latest offer they have, but you might be! Please respond to them if you are.

Yes, emboli, as in more than one embolism. I had several in each lung, near the bottom in the small capillaries. This is an area where there is less risk of a clot traveling to the heart. Thank heavens for my CRC family for encouraging me to get to the ER - without you I wouldn't have been there as quickly. I should have gone Tues instead of Weds. Now I know. I promised my family that from now on I will be more communicative when I don't feel well, being specific about what's going on.…

I've been thinking quite a bit lately about 'home', and what it means to me. I made an earlier post about this, reflecting on the differences in what 'home' means to a friend of mine, who doesn't have a permanent home right now. My attitude about home sure has changed over the past 6 years, since diagnosis. Where I live has transformed from being 'my house' to being safe and sacred to me. Honestly, it's not beautiful, I have a lot of old, worn furniture, and too much clutter. Last year I…

A dear friend of mine is staying at my house for a few days, and storing some things here until she finds a permanent place to live. When I met her, she weighed about 340 pounds, even with her 5'7" frame that was a LOT of weight. In 2010 she started with the FA program, has lost over 200 lbs (she started higher than 340#) and is just going on a maintenance program. This is the first time I've seen her so healthy and vital! She looks mahvelous, and says she has never felt more healthy and…

Debbie Weaver Oxner said… Hello Jeanne, Thank you all for such a warm welcome. So comforting. My husband was ready to start chemo last year. The delay was due to all the complications from the colon resection, and then had wound care treatment for 8 months. When it came time to discuss chemo, a PET scan was ordered and he was clear at that time. He is scheduled with the surgeon for his check up next week.
Thanks so much
Debbie Oxner
MicheleK said… Hello Jeanne! I'm just amazed at the warm welcome I've received here as an "outsider" and how inspiring, supportive and positive this community is. I'm also so encouraged about all the good news with treatment advances. Amazing at how long and well ppl are living. I'm definitely here to provide any information and support you or any of the other members would want for nutrition and dietary suggestions.
btw-- I pass by you twice a week on my way to my internship at the VA in Martinez! I'll send you a shout out next time! If you want to reach me anytime, you can email me for nutrition information at kab.michele@gmail.com Thanks again!!
Lisa said… Thanx Jeanne I'll get in touch with Michelle about the Metformin have to find something to work til they get Regorefenib. They will b getting it in June for compassionate use .
Thank you my dear friend. Just knowing that you all are in our corner is enough right now. My son doesn't drink, smoke, swear - his worst vice is that he uses too much ketchup! We'll know more next week after his scan. I'll keep you informed. Keep us in your thoughts if you would. Talk to you soon.
Pat Febbraro said… Hi Jeanne,
Just wanted to drop a line and tell you I was thinking about you and hoping your doing Ok. I know I dont comment much but felt I had to, dont ask me why so I just went with it. I will be scarce in Chat this week, chemo for some reason really is kicking my ass, both with the fatigue and with the rash and sores in mouth and nose. It goes on and on so I know I dont have to explain further, but I enjoy when your in chat and knew I would be in and out depending on how Im feeling so I just wanted to say hi and wish you well and hope your feeling as best as anyone can under our circumstances. Be well my friend and remember your always in my prayers.
Warm Regards,
Pat aka The Flash
