BATON-CRC, which is being led by AVEO's collaborator Astellas Pharma Inc. (Tokyo:4503, "Astellas"), will enroll approximately 252 patients with no prior VEGF-targeted therapy at approximately 80 centers in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe. Patients will be randomized to one of the two treatments arms in a 2:1 ratio (168 patients in the tivozanib arm and 84 patients in the bevacizumab arm). One component of BATON-CRC is the assessment of biomarker relationships that may be predictive of…

Sue Drost said… Hi Michelle,
Just checking in with you. Heard you may be doing a new treatment? I finished radiation for the bone met and pain is gone. So nice. Some liver mets grew slightly, so they decided not to go after any of them with ablation. Right now I'm waiting for KRAS status and that will decide next drug. Hopefully will know allthis when I go to doc on Thursday. The docs want me to use up all standard chemo before they go outside the box. Hope you're well and if you are on new treatment, sending positive thoughts and prayers your way that it works!

Sue Drost said… Hi Michelle! So good talking to you this week. You have so much knowledge and insight to share with all of us! I'm looking forward to good news Monday on the scan. Call anytime!
Hi Michelle, how have you been. I know that you are not taking any breaks from chemo through the holidays. Either am I but in my case I think it is prudent that I dont skip a beat because cancer is the nastiest of the nastiest and just looks for reasons to occupy our bodies. I am glad that Christmas is right around the corner. I love all the festivities, family and friends. The holidays transport my mind to a happy spot and its nice to be happy. I pray Michelle that you have happiness, strength and love all around you not only for Christmas but for all of your days. You are a strong warrior and I am proud to know you. God Bless you Michelle.
Hi Michelle, thank you so very much with your update and your busy schedule with chemo. I had my treatment today and saw my Oncologist. He gave me additonal good news about my cea blood marker. It has come down again to 5.8. It was 6.4. This tells him and me that I am still NED and that my immune system so but sure with erbitux and avastin are wiping out the last of the dead cells, etc. As we know chemo is not a fun thing especially through the holidays. I admire your proactivity and "stick to it" attitude. If more of us were like you and engagaed in what we have I think its a bit easier to go through it. There are alot of uncertainties with our cancer and I do have in the back of my head "am I really out of the woods" because this is my third time at it, however, I believe, I have G-d, hope and my family and with that combination working for me I am a survivor, winner, and yes a patient. I greatly appreciate sharing with you as it is very refreshing to me and I learn alot from you as well. Keep the fight alive Michelle, stay engaged, know your enemy and together we will beat it to the follor and out your door:). Have a great weekend.
Hi Michells:
Sounds by your post you are non-stop with chemo. I hope they give you a Christmas break so you can enjoy the holidays with your family. I take erbitux and avastin on Thursday's. Even though I am in remission cancer never sleeps and seems to pop up unexpectively. I have been in and out of remission and this is my third time in remission :). Are you having any side effects, if so is your Oncologist treating them. This Michelle is a journey tht seems to go on forever. I am thankful though that I am on this path as I get to meet nice people like you. Stay well my friend and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Sincerely, Michael
Hi Michelle:
I hope this post finds you well, strong and fighting cancer one day at a time. How is your chemotherapy going?. I know from first hand experiences that there are a lot of ups and owns with chemotherapy. Pursue and fight the fight because we are victorious when we fight and are survivors. I currently am in remission after numerous chemo treatments and rfa (radio frequency abulations). I have never taken radiation however. I am Stage IV Colon Cancer survivor/patient and continue to take chemotherapy for maintenance.
Have a great day Michelle.
Sincerely, Michael
Jeannie Moore said… Hey Michelle - had a talk with Dr. Laura. She agreed to stop the avastin if there is any progression regardless of size. Feel free to message her on her page if you want to talk more.
