Thanks for writing back Rodney. I am doing ok. I think the VATS surgery was the easiest one I have had so far. I am trying to walk around quite a bit and yes, I have been doing breathing exercises (probably not as much as I should and will work on that ....). How are you ? What is going on ? Pls keep me posted as you are in my thoughts. Michele

Hi!
Good to hear from you. Are you on any treatment at this time? Have they considered the Sir Spheres for the Lungs? Susie is hopeful, but also realistic & she keeps trying to do what she can to fight this monster. Her two kids are so important to her & I know they keep her fighting. We are so glad that Susie has good days- she loves her kids- enjoys watching Janae when she Cheers & little Jayden is so funny(most of the time) he adores his mom & tells her all the time how much he loves her. Anyway- we will keep praying for you & appreciate you keeping in touch with us.

Keep Hope Alive!

Hugs & Prayers!

Hi Rodney!
Haven't heard any thing from you since the initial surorise hello on this site. Would love to hear how you are doing etc? Any news re: the scan results etc?
Are you still hoping to move? Update me on how YOU are. Susie is plugging away, has some good days in between the treatments & hopeful that the new cocktail is helping. It is a constant battle, the journey is a tretcherous one as you well know & I really have to keep the FAITH that there will be better days for all of you.
Let me hear from you please!
Hugs & Prayers!

Hi Rodney,

Good to hear from you. You still in Atlanta?

Whats been going on with me- I had what I thought was an ileo obstruction about two weeks ago that landed me in the hospital for 12 days. Apparently it wasn't an obstruction (I still think it had something to do w/ it)- but the mucus that my body was supposed to be getting rid of through my rectum/anus was accumulating in my colon and needed to come out. They cut me open, and now I have a "blow hole" to have a safe place to release the toxic mucus. I was so emotionally down when I woke up with 2 ileo. bags. Fortunately my surgeon said I can just use some gauze to cover the hole as less and less mucus should be coming out of that.

In terms of where I go from here- eventually I will make a decision to get a permanent colostomy or taking the risk of reversing ileo. again. At this point I'm leaning towards the colostomy.

Whats been going on with you?

Hi Rodney!
Can it be- is it really you? Wow-great to hear from you.
All going ok here- Susie is on a new Chemo Cocktail again as she now has Liver Mets- working hard on an Insurance Appeal to get a referral out of Network- she really needs to be treated by Dr. Lenz at USC Norris. The appeal is outstanding- took lots of research- fact finding etc- it is now going to be up to the Medical Review board & God.. Susie would be glad to hear from you- do you still have her E mail address?
You have my home E mail- send me an update there. Are you still planning to move-what are you doing for work these days?
I have been visiting this site for several months now- I feel like I just rediscovered an old friend-thanks for the brief hello- now bring me up to date on you.
Hugs & Prayers- your long time friend!

Hi Rodney, I read your post and have to agree about recurrences. They are a very unwelcome bad habit. One that we want to break but keep coming back. I was initially diagnosed in August 06. Had surgery and chemo. In August 07 I had a met to my right ovary, it was removed and had another 6 months of chemo. August 08 ?? Yup, another met - this time to my left lung. 2 years - one primary and 2 mets. It's both emotionally and physically taxing. I am sending you a lot of positive vibes - maybe it isn't anything and if it is, you will get through it. When I am down and throwing myself a big, old pity party and then read something like your entry, it shows me a few things....it's not just me, there are people out there who have it worse than me and most importantly, these people are courageous and strong. Props to you for going through all this. Again, I am hoping for the best for you.
Take Care
Michele

Yeah, recurrences are getting to be an old habit. I had original colon
resection in May '05, then a liver recurrence in August '06, then a lung
recurrence in July '07, a second lung recurrence in January '08, and now I think
I have another lung recurrence. CT/PET shows multiple nodules. Given the
medical history, I've got some suspicions.
