About Me:
I am a mother of two grown son's, an artist, singer and art teacher. My bout with cancer has left me even more eager to reach-out to other's and enjoy life. It took me a year to adjust to living with an ostomy, and now I feel that the greater society has to learn to accept those who have changes to their bodies. After-all guys, there are those who pay money to have their bodies changed (noses, breasts, etc.). Oh, I enjoy humor, mine and others!

Another loss to breast cancer.

Posted on October 1, 2009 at 8:43am 2 Comments

Sadly, yesterday I stood witness as we buried my cousin, after a three year hellish battle with breast cancer. She had taken me in after my rectal cancer surgery and helped me get back on my feet, stronger than ever! In-turn I was there when the family needed me during my cousin's long, unsuccessful battle with her cancer.

It is my belief, that long use of estrogen for menopause, not picked-up by her doctors, led to her cancer. She had the tumor which is sensitive to estrogen. I… Continue

Thanks Lucy! I have really been down in the dumps this past week. I have taken it out on my hubby and he is so confused as to what he did wrong. Poor man! He took me for a long ride today and that seemed to help calm me down!

The ostomy finally lost a battle. Today was the first time since I got Elvis that I got to chose the time when to change out the phlange and bag. And then going out for four hours riding was like a bit of a victory! Elvis wasnt rulling my life.....I owned it and it has helped give me a bit of confidence in going out some and living life again.

I can't wait till I can do like you and say I am a 9 year survivor of this cancer! Tomorrow I start my second go of chemo and am ready to face it and get it done!

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement!

Hi Lucy,
Another photo was here to approve, however it also had the misspelled word. I deleted it and will wait for you to get it fixed then approve them all! They are lovely, we want to get them on there correctly!
